The Icelandic prog-rock band Svanfríd urreleased only one album, recorded six months after they played their first gig. This short-lived band rapidly rose to fame, receiving rave reviews for live performances, but in fact their music was way ahead of its time. They were unable to seal a recording contract so they formed their own label Swan Records. When the album Whats Hidden There? was released in autumn 72 it got mixed reviews and sold onlya few hundred copies, leaving the band with a great album but sadly not the income they had been hoping for. Recorded at Londons Majestic Studios the album was cut andpressed in England. Perhaps one of the best heavy prog / underground album from Scandinavia with amazing guitar & all English vocals. 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 2 page insert

Moses played their own heavy and punshyand stoned progressive blues. Their record "Changes" from 1971 has now become cult in the collectors market. By the end of 1969 the band got a contact with theindependant record company Spectator Records in Denmark and in the summer 1970 they recorded the only album,"Changeas" in 2 days in the Spectator Record Studio in Ålborg, Denmark. Finally the rarest and perhaps best album on the rare Danish Spectator label. The music is strongly influenced by the Cream and other hard Psychedelic guitar bands. It took us quiet a while to get a deal together andwe are happy now to close the final chapter of the Spectator story with this great release of Moses. Extra heavy fuzz-guitar madness all over with strong bass and drums and great vocals. 500 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing/ insert
Icelandic progressive rock trio Odmennever released. It was made at a critical point in Odmenns history when the band members had agreed to take a sabbatical year while the guitarist studied law at the University of Iceland. They got together for the last time a year after the album was released and split up directly after having played only one gig. Odmennwas formed in early 1966 by the Johannsson brothers playing the most popular music clubs in Reykjavik. Most of Odmenns music could be categorised as protestsongs or social studies touching topics like anti-war protest and fights againstpollution, greed and deception balanced with more positive stances like hope for a better world with love and eternal brotherhood. "Psychedelic guitar pieces had becometheir trademark". Odmenn recorded this double album in Copenhagen with a release late December 1970. Odmenn made a great impression with their blooming mixture of energetic blues rock and was probably one of the best prog rock bands in Northern Europe. 15 great songs released as a double album with massive 4 pages insert and many photos never shown plus a long liner notes. 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 4 page insert
Brand new reissue of rare male Female vocal folk psych from early 70's + insert.
One of the newest and most surprising discoveries in the 60's & 70's rock rarities field, this caused big hype among collectors in the last months. Certainly easy to understand, as it's an ace album no one had heard of before. Guitarist William Nowik recorded this obscure instrumental record back in 1974 in the NY area. It has such a deep feeling, nothing anyone could have done without really loving it aside of any commercial view. Psychedelic, progressive, very early Floyd sounding at times, Crimson- esque, and a kind of sound that reminds on the British early 70's underground but with an experimental, trippy touch. 14 tracks in total but played like suites.Seems only 200 copies were pressed and never distributed, so it needed 35 years to be discovered ! This wonderful reissue comes with the intended original artwork (it came out in green and black cover instead of the black and white that William wanted), has nice remastered sound and includes an insert with rare unseen photos and extended linernotes.
Following the reissue of the fantastic Tapiman LP, here's a mini- lp with the four tracks that came out on singles in 1971. Two 5- minute tracks from their second single (Love Country and Walking all along the life) which have never been re- released before, plus '' Hey you!'' and '' Sugar stone'' from their first single. Fully remastered sound to make you feel the hard- rock inside of you!!! Nice cover artwork as well !!!
"Based in Rome, L'Uovo di Colombo was a sort of primordial supergroup featuring Enzo Volpini and Ruggero Stefani that had previously played together in I Fholks with future members of Reale Accademia di Musica, while Elio Volpini had been a member of Flea (on the Honey). L'Uovo di Colombo is a great album, with the very good voice of Toni Gionta (his real surname was Tartarini and he was later the singer with Cherry Five) backed by a keyboard/bass/drums trio in perfect Le Orme style with occasional use of acoustic and electric guitar. The solid rhythm section and competent keyboard playing give the album a very high quality and the eight tracks are all perfectly enjoyable. After the band's demise, drummer Ruggero Stefani joined Samadhi, then Mediterraneo and Gli Alunni del Sole. Elio Volpini went back to his old cohorts of Flea to form the jazz-rock outfit Etna. As said before, singer Gionta changed his name to Tony Tartarini and was briefly involved in Cherry Five. Never reissued on vinyl before, great sounding 180 gram high quality vinyl!" Gatefold sleeve.

Meic Stevens may not be a familiar name in much of the world, but in his native Wales the singer-songwriter's stature is often compared to that of Bob Dylan. He was a local legend whose psych-folk influence can be heard in such contemporary Welsh groups as Super Furry Animals and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. His one English-language album is this 1970 Outlander, an outstanding marriage of musicianship and eclecticism. Its jazz-Indo-psych ragas merge seamlessly with its acid folksongs and Dylan-esque meditations on relationships and politics. Performed by a remarkable cast of musicians hand-picked by English rock tastemaker Ian Samwell, Outlander was created with a minimum of rehearsal and consists largely of first takes. Limited to 500 copies
Unknown to most 60s/ 70s collectors until its discovery a few years ago, this is the beyond rare second album released by loner/ downer folk legend Dave Bixby, recorded around the same year as his first one, the now famous “Ode to Quetzalcoatl”.
Musically is equally as good and very similar to the first one but this time the recording took place in a professional studio, so the sound is improved. Bixby is joined by Brian MacInness on guitar, Sandy Johnson on vocals and Don DeGraaf on bass and production duties. Don was in fact leader of the, in the end, religious destructive cult known as “The Group”, of which Bixby and Brian were part of.
The sound is more up- front and the songs are slightly optimistic compared to the ones on “Ode to Quetzalcoatl”. There’s plenty of acoustic 12- string raga guitars and harmony male/ female vocals. The lyrics deal with cosmic imagery, psychedelics and religious/ biblical references but this goes much deeper than any Xian record. Features titles like “Cosmic energy”, “Time to clear your mind”, “Rainbow”, “Circus World”…
Reissued for the first time under license from Dave Bixby. Features carefully remastered sound from a clean vinyl (no master tapes exists) done at Shadoks Music Studios, and an insert with extensive and detailed liner notes by Matvei Procak - the guy who found Bixby in 2006 - plus some rare pictures.
The new year starts with 2 new amazing unreleased LP's music lovers are waiting for a long time.
BUMP 2 (the unreleased second album) was recoded in 1971, just a year later after the debut album, also on Pioneer Records and also produced by Gary A. Rubin.
Paul Lupien - organ / George Runyan - bass, vocals / Alan Goldman - guitar / Jerome Charles Greenberg - drums recorded 8 great tracks which never came out so far. We could even use the original artwork.
This is a fantastic prog / psychedelic monster LP, a mixture of dreamy organ psych with heavy fuzz bluster, very much like CA Quintet. Ghostly swirly organs, burning rough guitars, sound effects, fuzz/wahwah guitars, trippy lysergic vocals and great melodies. A killer album from start to end
Originally recorded in 1974, New Sounds is considered to be one of the Pacific Northwest's best-kept secrets, a regional Holy Grail with copies fetching upwards of $1000. Until recently, not much was known about this mysterious blind folk-singer from Oregon. In 2007, Discourage Records located Bob Desper, alive and well, living in Albany, Oregon. After two years of culling materials, Discourage Records is proud and honored to officially reissue this once lost masterpiece. Evoking the melancholy mood of Nick Drake, the fluid improvisation of Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, and the intricate instrumentation of Jose Gonzales, New Sounds' dark, meditative urgency immediately transcends the thirty-five years marking its original release. This official reissue of New Sounds includes Bob Desper's 1972 debut 7", Dry Up Those Tears (including picture sleeve); an 11 x 17 insert with extensive liner notes and full color photos; and 1970s style tip-on sleeve.
Limited reissue of one and only album by German legendary psychedelic prog blues band. Originally released on Harvest in 1972. LP comes with insert.
Galliard were formed in Birmingham, in the summer of 1968. They were, in essence, a much-augmented later manifestation of Craig. Galliard set out as an extremely eclectic band on Strange Pleasure. They juxtapose a woodwind/horn section slyly with rural compositions, creating a pastoral, even medieval atmosphere, starkly contrasting nervously urban passages, although they borrow from Art Nova's 'Wrapped Her In Ribbons' and give the credit to Geoff Brown. An interesting effort." 180 gram vinyl, limited edition of 500 copies.
Yodeling Astrologer” (aka: Color By The Number) could be considered an anomaly, a one-off or a miracle of circumstance in the history of psychedelic pop music. Mij, a.k.a. Jim Holmberg was discovered by ESP owners while playing in Washington Square Park in the summer of 1968. His style and persona mesmerized the label heads, and he explained to them a recent auto accident had fractured his skull but left him changed. He perceived sound, color and vision differently and he had funneled this new world of perception directly into his music. All this was enough to warrant getting Mij into the studio to lay down a record of his rambly, cosmic folk songs. The entire album was recorded in three hours, first-takes and impromptu production intact, then pressed up and introduced to the world shortly thereafter.
To focus on the yodeling aspect of the Yodeling Astrologer would miss some of the depth of this album. Not just a hippie novelty act of the time, this is a truly thoughtful and somewhat frenzied document• Like Buffy St. Marie’s “Meditations”, Linda Perhacs’ “Parallelograms” or “Cold Fact” by Rodriguez, this is an album of sincere folk songs colored with subtle psychedelic touches. Uneasy reverberations and soft echoes glide over Holmberg’s breezy songs, creating a consistent sonic environment as spontaneous as it is intriguing. Available on vinyl for the first time since an incredibly limited original pressing in 1969 on ESP Disk'.
